There's A New Geek In Town

Welcome (back) to The Geek Speak! The blog has a new look and is under new management. Many of you know me from TV Babble, but I am also a geek at heart. This place will be a shrine to the emerging and evolving geek and nerd culture that has swept society.

Nina,

I'll be intersested to see what you choose to write about.

I like your site with its simple, well done heading. What's a geek? I know what a nerd is, I don't think we have too many of those here but I guess it's all a matter of perspective.

We've certainly got variety here, and some of that variety is very narrow and self absorbed and wanting to pull down society's [suchas they are] values whereas I'm all for increasing standards and maintaining what we have left.

I'll be interested in what you have to say.

katyzz, I hoping to examine that very question over the coming week - the answer, you see, is not that simple. Because the term has changed so much from its origins and is continuing to evolve, it can be a difficult one to answer.

Dusk, I think bloggers who are extremely passionate about their chosen topic could probably qualify as geeks.
Geek is the new black, but I hope this cultural phenomenon doesn't become as fickle as changing fasion....

I am interested to see where this is going. I believe we all have a little geek in us. Stay in the right mind....I know I have some things my friends make fun of me about that are a pretty geekish. Bring on the Geeks!
