Nintendo's Wii-lease Details
September 17th 2006 00:21
It's comming. December 7th, I along with many other gaming geeks, shall head down to our local store of purchasing and promptly pay $399.99 (who are you kidding huh? it's $400, dont give us this .99 crap. You're not Mr bankrupt, Nintendo). After paying the money, for the first time since I was 12, I will have Wii in my hands (oh yes, a bodily function pun. There'll be more...wait for em...)
So what is so good about the Wii? Well, my friend I'm going to tell you. Oh, you want to know now? Right, sorry. Remember when you were young, and you picked up a controller for a videogame for the very first time. You sat in front of the tv, and everytime you wanted the character to jump, you'd jump, or at very least jerk the remote in the direction that you wanted it to go? Well, after 25 years, Nintendo have thought...hey, why don't we make it so that's actually how you play a game!!! (three exclamations, so you know I'm excited)
Imagine playing Zelda (which incidently is a launch title..WOOOOO, or should that be WIIIIIIIII...nah, it's the first one), where you come upon an enemy. Now instead of pressing buttons to combat the foe, you now swing the temote, or wii-mote in order to control the sword. How cool is that? The answer is very.
Imagine the possibilities, playing tennis and swinging the Wii-mote to hit the ball, a lightsabre game where you use the Wii-mote to fight Darth Vader, hell even fishing would be somewhat exciting (not to mention the rumor that Duck Hunt will be remade with a gun attatchment. Yeah, that's right, your Wii plugs into a gun attatchment. A GUN).
So, what do I get for my hard earned $400, sorry, $399.99 Well, you get a Wii (and after you buy it you get to go wii wii wii all the way home...man, I'm not getting sick of this anytime soon), you also get, with the consol, Wii Sports. Think Mario party crossed with California Games. Actually, it's more like just California Games. I believe this will be the first system to COME WITH A GAME since the good ol' NES. You get a nunchuck attatchment (directional joystick which hooks onto the Wii-mote), and most likely some cables to hook it up to your tv. The Wii wil lalso take full use of the DS wireless capability functions, and be completely bckwards compatable with all of you Gamecude games!
But wait, there's more once youve plugged that sucker in.
