I am a member of the Oasis Church in Loganville, Ga. and recently we have formed the E-Ministry team to assist with the technology needs of our growing church. I think our assistant pastor said it best when he described implementing ideas at our church is like being on a moving train. We have been blessed and our growing crazy fast so we are trying to implement some ideas to help our members get connected and involved. I have been tasked with revamping our network and expanding our online offerings. I have worked as a network geek for about 10 years now and this is my first time dealing with a church in this capacity. I guess it is the same motions but the spirit of the work is different. Our church is very forward thinking and that is one reason I love it. We are planning to deploy an intranet that will be the lifeline to all things Oasis and that has fallen squarely on my shoulders. I am excited because there are a ton of opportunities to make an impact and show our members all the cool things we can do. I will be documenting my journey as I go as well as commenting on cool tech stuff that catches my fancy.
